The Art of Working Relationships
Our joint life?s mission is to help you create working relationships in your professional life, and in your personal life.
A working relationship is one in which we experience safety, trust, clarity, synergy and productivity. The Art of Working Relationships (AWR) techniques are communication tools which assist us in establishing and maintaining working relationships.
Three core tools of the AWR are:
- Boundaries: To feel safe and be fully effective in the workplace, my professional and personal boundaries must be clear to me and others. I must have the skills and the willingness to consistently identify, honor, and maintain them.
- Listening: As my boundary-setting skills increase my experience of safety and clarity, I can begin to truly listen to others. My focused attention invites others into trusting and highly effective working relationships.
- Non-blaming language: My words no longer blame others. As I effectively assess, motivate, discipline, and hold others accountable, they feel supported rather than judged.
Though far more extensive than what appears above, the AWR techniques are quite simple to understand. And, it takes persistence and courage to master this art. Persistence, because it takes practice to master the AWR techniques and principles. Courage, because working relationships take us to a place many of us have never been to before: a place of infinite possibilities, a place of synergy.
It is our joint life’s mission to guide you there.
